Ohio lawmakers consider lifting ban on growing hemp, selling CBD products
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) – Ohio lawmakers consider lifting the state’s ban on growing hemp and selling CBD products that are derived from it.
A measure introduced Tuesday in the Ohio Senate would follow the 2018 federal farm bill, which lifts the nationwide prohibition on hemp but left regulations up to individual states.
Current Ohio law does not differentiate between hemp and marijuana, and that has led to stores pulling CBD products from their shelves.
Other products can be made from hemp, including rope and car parts.
